Which iPad do I have?
The model decides what the tablet can handle. There are two ways to find out which one you have.
If it turns on: check Settings
- Open Settings, then General and About.
- The Model Name row shows which iPad it is. If it only shows a number, tap it and it switches to the model number.
If it won’t turn on: look on the back
At the bottom of the back, in small print, it says "Model A" followed by four digits, for example A1474. Look the number up in the table.

What HemOS needs
iPads from 2013 and later work. iPad Air, iPad mini 2 and iPad mini 3 are the oldest, and HemOS takes it a little easier on them. If the number isn’t in the table, it’s usually a newer iPad, and then it works. Pick the model when you join the waitlist and you’ll get an answer straight away.
Still not working?
If the tablet is too old, or the battery won’t wake up, we can send a used tablet that we have tested, at a lower price. Let us know when you join the waitlist.
